The Commissioned Writing examination gives candidates a stimulating and challenging opportunity to use writing as a way of responding to issues and themes germane to our contemporary world, and to prepare them for the wider world of professional writing. The focus is on producing short, well-crafted texts that meet the demands of specific briefs in timed conditions.
Candidates will always have a range of briefs to choose from. The paper is designed to enable them to adapt tone and style for different audiences and purposes, and to meet the expectations of editors and clients.
WRITE-2 is a 2-hour examination and comprises 15% of the marks for the AFA in Creative Writing.
